SRA stall at St Albans' first German-style Christmas Market

St Albans Christmas Market 2013
The SRA has been given a stand at the first ever St Albans Christmas Market  which will take place from Thursday, 28th November until Saturday, 21st December.

It will be a German-style market, with more than 40 traditional German wooden chalets circling the Cathedral and into the Vintry Gardens. Details of the stalls and daily opening times here.

We have been given a 4 hour slot on Saturday, 7th December, from 10am until 2pm. We will be just outside the Vintry Gardens in our own little festive chalet. Do come along to say hello!

We will be concentrating mainly on promoting the Sopwell Memories project, hoping to recruit some more interviewees and hearing their Sopwell related stories.

The Sopwell history book will be on sale as well, of course.

It is a lovely book which traces the story of Sopwell and its people, from the rural landscape of medieval times to the development of the pre- and post-war estates of today. It contains the memories of many people who live or have lived in Sopwell and there are lots of images, from photographs and paintings to family snapshots.

And, from now until Christmas, we have decided to sell the book at the specially reduced rate of just £10!

That is a massive 33% discount!!!  An ideal Christmas present!

But it’s just for the Christmas period; this offer ends on Friday, 20th December.

The books will only be available direct from the Sopwell Residents Association at this price until the end of the promotion, so if you want one, contact us to arrange to collect one or turn up at our stall at the Christmas Market on Saturday, 7th December between 10am and 2pm.

Alternatively, you can buy the book on-line, for delivery anywhere in the UK. For delivery outside the UK, contact us with your full postal address, so we can determine the correct postage and packing.

Finally, if you can spare half hour or so and would like to help out at the stall, please let us know. Any offers of help will be gratefully received!
