Ver Valley Society working party at Sopwell Nunnery

The Ver Valley Society (VVS) and its volunteer members aim to protect and promote all aspects of the River Ver and its valley.

One of the things the society does is to undertake a variety of practical conservation tasks along the river.

On Saturday, 16th November, from 10 am till noon, VVS volunteers, with help and tools from the Countryside Management Service (CMS), will be doing some maintenance in the Sopwell Nunnery Green Space, coppicing the overgrown willow near the willow tunnel and using the brash to build habitat piles.

Local people can come along and get involved too.

Please bring your own gloves and tools if possible, or let the Ver Action Group Coordinator, Sue Frearson, know that you are coming so she can borrow tools for you from the CMS: or 01727 761 878.

Parking available along Cottonmill Lane; no restrictions on Saturdays.
